Rick was flexible, upfront and a true professional. Had a 2 ceiling fan install. Patio went great but ran into some extra items needed for the bathroom. Rick explained what was needed and offered to make the trip with me to pick up the parts. Wasn't able to complete the second install today due to my own time constraints but will definitely bring him back when ready to move forward. I don't put my name behind someone or something that I don't truly believe in but I gladly put my personal seal of approval on this job and would highly recommend Rick to work with to anyone. I have already notified a couple of friends and co-workers who have some like projects to complete. I am sure they will be reaching out to him as well. Great job Rick! Keep up the great work! Can't wait to get this next fan in... CB

From the onset, the experience dealing with Di Salvo Services was flawless. Diego (proprietor of the company) arrived on time for the free viewing/consultation appointment, examined the roof, took photos of what were the causes of the roof leak. He explained with the aid of the pictures what are to be done. His quotation for the job to be undertaken was reasonable (compared with the other roofers that quoted.) Diego is also a friendly guy with pleasing personality and his company is capable to do other projects such as painting, in house repairs, etc. The roof repair was undertaken this morning (Feb 3, 2018). He and 2 of his workers finished the job and even blow clean the driveway. While I did not climb the ladder to view the roof (as I am scared to fall), before and after photos were taken again of the repair with the roofing materials replaced and used. My wife and are very pleased and satisfied with project done and without any hesitation, will recommend his company to my neighbors and relatives. P.S. Di Salvo Services is to do other in-house project such as ceiling painting this coming Thursday!

I posted the ad, he responded right away. We chatted all evening and we scheduled for the next morning to do my job. A very hard worker with a 90 day guarantee on his work. Very helpful, positive and pleasant to work with. He worked through some difficult unforeseen issues and was always solutions oriented. He worked late to get the job completed on time. Thank you Al!

Randy Rochte installed custom designed 12" aluminum modern house numbers on two office buildings. He arrived early for the appointment. He worked carefully and paid attention to detail. He was prepared with all required tools and special items called out by the architect who designed the numbers. He purchased a new drill bit in the exact size required and was prepared with newly purchased correct epoxy product and masking tape. He used templates provided by the architect. As a result, I have perfectly placed three demensional numbers on my office buildings. Randy is pleasant, professional, clean cut and enjoys doing quality work. I will hire him again.

I needed a bid on some water damage on the outside of my home. Ruben not only showed up on time but said he could do it that day. He did a great job and was very reasonable on his price. What a pleasant surprise to get a reliable company and workers here in Vegas. I would definitely recommend him to anyone needing home repairs.

Josiah was great! We had to take an old reach-in closet and make room for a new IKEA closet. He sent over a professional quote and set a start date and time. We estimated the project to take about a week and it did. He started by deconstruction on the wall. He removed debris and then built the closet system. Then, he installed the unit. He finished by painting and trimming. The closet is 100x better and more functional than it was before and I am so grateful for all his hard work. He worked from morning until night and didn’t take any breaks but to go get supplies! He is a hard worker and very responsive. I will hire him again!

5 star quickly responded to my request for an estimate. In all the process from beginning to end was about 2 weeks. I really liked that they were available by email, phone and text and treated me as an important customer despite my arguably small project. (A 78 ft linear fence. John, the owner, was available to answer my questions from deciding what wood to use, to how to care for my fence, or providing there professional suggestions as to how to best build a sturdy fence around the obstacles in my yard. I also feel like they offered me one of the most competitive estimates.

Simon was very professional and I felt that I got a good deal for all the work he and his workers had to do. I didn't like that one of his workers was on his cell phone a lot and butchered one of my shrubs. The other worker was awesome and worked hard the WHOLE time.

I have had E&E doing repairs on my pool for over 3 years. Ed Howard has proven to be exceptional in his expertise and just as important, always reasonably priced. He recently "talked" me into replacing my defunct solar controller with a Pentair intellitec controller. It now controls my pool, solar, lights, and even landscape lighting. Ed is always there to either reprogram or teach me how to reprogram the controller to do just what I want. By the way, I am the past President of the Associated General Contractors of America and I served as the Chairman of the Nevada State Public Works board. I know contractors and E&E has proven to be outstanding!

I wanted a fireplace Mantle built but wasn't exactly 100% sure what I wanted. He had great suggestions and gave me a few options. I was so happy when he came and installed it!! It was even better than I imagined. He did a great job and was very clean and professional. I had some other work done in my home lately and a lot of other workers left messes behind or were not professional. I was very pleased with Josh. I would recommend him in a heartbeat!! Lindsey R. I was blown away by Eddie Esquivel's workmanship. I will be using Eddie for all future jobs that come along. I needed a closet built in one of our rooms and he built it better than I could have imagined. Not only is Eddie's work beyond expectations, but he is professional in every way. He gave me a price and stuck to his price, even though he did a little extra. Also, he showed up when he said he would and he finished the job quick! Eddie is Top Notch!!! Workers like Eddie are hard to come by.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to install a vinyl fence?

A new fence can mean added home value, increased curb appeal, and improved home security. The national average vinyl fence installation cost is $4,600. Vinyl fences have a number of appealing qualities such as their durability, their lasting good looks (they don’t weather like wood does), their versatility, and the fact that they require little to no maintenance such as staining. Fencing companies typically charge per linear foot for vinyl fence installation. They calculate their estimates based on materials to be used, height of fence, linear feet of the proposed fence, and the accessibility of the terrain. If the workers need to level the land before work begins, your vinyl fence installation costs will probably increase. Vinyl fences are typically more expensive than wood or chain-link. For example, one company might charge $19-$22 per linear foot for a basic 6-foot vinyl privacy fence. Another company might charge $25-$35 per linear foot for standard vinyl fencing, while decorative fencing with custom detail could increase that cost to $50 per linear foot. For a 6-foot-high white vinyl privacy fence with two walk-through gates (plus demolition and disposal of the old fence), the cost of the total project could run $8,000. A 4-foot-high, 36-linear-foot white picket vinyl fence with one gate could cost $2,600.

How much does it cost to put up a chain-link fence?

Chain-link fence is one of the most affordable options for adding safety and value to your home or business. The national average chain-link fence installation cost is $2,750. Chain-link fences are relatively simple for the pros to install; a fence of less than 150 linear feet can often be put up in under one day. A good rule of thumb is to add an additional workday for each additional 100 linear feet of fence to be installed.

Chain-link fence installation costs are affected by the fluctuating cost of steel, regional labor rates, the height of fence you select, and the features you select, such as a powder-coated finish. The industry standard is galvanized steel, which is rust- and corrosion-resistant. Galvanized chain-link fence installation cost, including labor and materials, is typically $12 per linear foot. For a more contemporary and elegant option, black powder-coated galvanized chain-link fence might cost approximately $15 per linear foot on average, including materials and labor. For industrial sites or businesses, 10-foot-high galvanized chain-link fences may provide additional security, but also have an added cost. A 10-foot-high chain-link fence could cost $17-$18 per linear foot, including labor and materials.

How much is a redwood fence per foot?

A redwood fence is a long-lasting home investment that can add beauty and major curb appeal to your home. Redwood fence installation costs are higher than those for pressure-treated pine or cedar, due to the relative scarcity of the wood. Pricing can vary for redwood fence installation costs based on regional labor rates, current prices of redwood planks, the height and linear feet of the fence, and any custom designs or features. Redwood fences, in addition to being beautiful, are naturally more resistant against bugs and rot than less hardy or dense woods. Redwood fences also generally fare well in wet or humid climates due to their natural oils — which also make them easier to maintain. Materials costs per linear foot for redwood planks can range anywhere from $6 to $20 or more, depending on grade, quality and height.

    How long is welding training?

Because there are different paths to learning to weld, there’s no single timeline for welding training. Some people attend school part-time while working their current job, while others can focus full-time on their welding training courses. People interested in learning how to weld as a hobby can also take classes from professional welders, such as at KCMA & Services in Waterloo, Indiana.

Expect to take at least two years to go from welding newbie to American Welding Society Certified Welder. A junior college Certificate of Completion welding course is two semesters full-time, or 10 units of coursework. With this certificate, students are qualified for an apprenticeship or internship, rather than a full-time entry-level job. Welding apprenticeships range from 6,000 to 8,000 hours long, equalling three to four years at 2,000 hours per year. Some junior colleges, such as Cerritos College in the Los Angeles area, offer more in-depth welding programs that lead to different welding certifications, such as arc welding and tungsten gas arc welding. These take three to four semesters to complete, so you could be qualified for an entry-level job in about two years of full-time study. Alternatively, you can prepare for employment more quickly through an intensive vocational program at a trade school. For instance, Ohio’s Lincoln Electric Company offers a comprehensive program that prepares people for a welding career in just 20 weeks and 600 hours of hands-on instruction.

    How much is welding training?

The cost of welding training depends on where you take your classes and how quickly you want to complete the program. In general, junior college welding classes are the least expensive, but may take longer; trade schools offer intensive classes that lead to certification more quickly, but are more expensive. For example, Cerritos College, a junior college in Los Angeles that offers a welding training course, charges an average of $46 per unit; most of their welding certificate programs require 19 units of coursework, so cost about $875 each to complete. Pro-Weld, an on-site welding school in Idaho, offers three different welding courses. The 36-week welder fabrication and the 24-week gas tungsten arc welding courses each cost an average of $3,300, while pipe welding costs an average of $2,500 for a 24-week session or an average of $4,500 for a 52-week session. The 20-week comprehensive program at the Lincoln Electric Company in Ohio costs an average of $9,500. Many programs require students to purchase approximately $120-$200 worth of personal welding equipment in addition to textbooks or other class material fees.
