Hired on Thumbtack

The absolute worst housekeeper! Argumentative, extremely slow, a propensity for breakage with no desire to be responsible. His carelessness becomes the homeowners’ problem! He stated as much when he informed me he was not bonded or insured. I asked him what happens if, after several warnings to stay far away from my $6000 piano, he still manages to break it, who pays? He looked me straight in the eye and replied “You !”. Do not hire him! Dr. David Satz.

Details: 1 bedroom • 1 bathroom • Standard cleaning • No pets in home • Every week

Marcus Marsh's reply
I'm sorry you feel this way David but let's address your claims and move in truth You: "The absolute worst housekeeper!" Me: that's your opinion I cannot argue that. Although you never complained to me about how I cleaned. You: "Argumentative, extremely slow, a propensity for breakage with no desire to be responsible." Me: Yes you and I have had our disagreements. You try and use your age and money as a reason to think you know everything and that I have no say. I was there to do a job (cleaning) but you were seeking a servant. You: "His carelessness becomes the homeowners’ problem! He stated as much when he informed me he was not bonded or insured." Me: I disagree that I am careless. I was careful in your home. Yes I broke a few items (1 toilet brush, 1 coffee mug and 1 broom which was literally already broken at the middle before I began to use because of your "frugality". You told me to "be careful" with a broom that was already broken. We discussed replacing the coffee mug and the toilet brush. The appointment that I missed because you didn't answer your phone after 4 calls and a message is the reason why you didn't receive those items or compensation. I was going to tell you to take it out of that payment but you didn't answer your phone and those are your rules. I must call before I come. You: I asked him what happens if, after several warnings to stay far away from my $6000 piano, he still manages to break it, who pays? He looked me straight in the eye and replied “You !”. Do not hire him! Me: now this here is not true whatsoever. In your last review which I screenshot you falsely accused me of stealing bottles of pills and that you had cameras to prove it. Please produce the proof that I stole the pills out of your pantry and that I broke your piano. Any video of either claim? You sir were a handful to work for and I did not always look forward to providing you service. But nevertheless I did. I worked hard, did the job correctly and I showed up when I was supposed to. I called you 4 times on Sunday and left you a message and did not hear back from you. I did my part. Have a good one Dave. - Marcus
