About
Here at Down Dog Grooming, we are very passionate about animals and animal safety. Specializing in pets with anxiety, we take special care when handling pets and making sure they feel safe and comfortable. In addition, I am a certified Reiki practitioner, which is a healing modality that can help with both physical and emotional health. Animals can sense my calming energy and will often automatically feel at ease with me before I even give treatment. As well as caring for the safety of your pet, we also take into consideration your pet's health, which is why the products that we use do not contain any harmful chemicals. Our shampoos and conditioners are completely bio-degradable and infused with essential oils to calm your pet and also help with skin and coat problems. My favorite part of my job is taking a dog from being extremely terrified of groom to being happy to see me upon my next arrival.

What a wonderful experience! Valerie has such gentle spirit and is excellent with animals. We have been trying to find the perfect groomer with the environment our dog would be happiest for three years since we adopted her. Lexie was a lot less stressed being in her own home and after spending a short amount of time with Valerie was very calm. I know Lexie and I were very happy to not have her caged up. Valerie was also very open to having us present for the grooming. Lexie got the best haircut since we got her! I feel our presence during this process made the difference. Valerie was very patient and listened to our every need. Thank you Valerie! We will definitely be calling you back.

Our two Brussels Griffons were pretty raggedy. Valerie came to our home to groom them. She explained to us everything she was going to do. She took her time and and made our dogs feel very comfortable and relaxed. We could hear her talking to them as she worked. Bottom line, our dogs have never looked better, and they didn't even have to leave the security and comfort of their home. I am going to recommend her to my daughter and friends.

Valerie was so sweet and calm. My dog is extremely hyper and fussy. It's nearly impossible to trim his nails. Every groomer and every vet I've gone to have all had issues. It wasn't the easiest task, but she was able to trim all of my dog's nails. It was the best I've ever seen him be. She also brought her own homemade dog treats. For in-home services, her pricing is amazing. I highly recommend Valerie!! Thanks Valerie! See you soon! :)

I've got to admit that when you told me that even the vets had a hard time, I was a little nervous about what to expect, but I was still confident that I would be able to make a breakthrough with Mookie. I believe that a combination of the lavender spray and having Mommy there to comfort him made him feel better about the process. Good job, Mookie and we'll see you in a few weeks!

Val was FANTASTIC! Not only were my dogs very comfortable with her, she did a terrific grooming job. My 3 dogs range in varying degrees of being comfortable with being groomed, but Val really managed to put them all at ease. I absolutely recommend her with no hesitation! My pups look great!
