My experience of Mary Christian. Passionate, enduring, and above all-loving. That's how I experienced Mary. As I journeyed through Choice University, she was the coach who stood out among her peers. There was a strength in her authenticity that was irrefutable. When Mary wanted to help, she didn't just help-she guided, she provided. When she had something to communicate, it came through her whole being. I remember one of my first experiences with her. It was as certain as the sun means the day: "Sam, you are strong." There was no question how serious she was. The force in her reminder, the clarity in her conviction—no ifs, ands, or buts. As my journey continued, Mary became both a rock and a pair of wings. A grounding presence when emotions crashed like waves, and a liberating force that lifted me from the anchors of self-doubt. She taught me: when you feel something—feel it. And when you want something—you already have it. If not now, then it's not far away. Mary embodies what it truly means to love the world around her. I don't say that lightly. To love so many people, and to love each one so deeply and individually, is no easy feat. Real love, as she showed me, sometimes means pushing someone beyond comfort into pain. It means telling uneasy truths, looking someone in the eye and saying,
"You're wrong." It means watching them fail when failure is necessary for growth-even when it hurts. That's the personal sacrifice love demands. And Mary never shied away from it. She never hindered anyone's capability out of fear or personal discomfort. She sacrificed. The list goes on as I reflect on the amazing woman Mary is. I was personally.. saddened not to have her as my coach in leadership—but I always felt her presence in spirit. So, needless to say, my experience of Mary Christian is of a woman who knows herself deeply enough to truly know others. A person who never hides. A person who loves with unwavering abundance.
