Introduction: I am a Certified Professional Organizer through NAPO and the BCPO (both are national organizations). It requires 1500 hours of skills transferring to my clients, several courses and an exam. It is one of the most difficult certifications in our industry and aside from helping my clients change their lives on a regular basis, it's one of my proudest accomplishments. Since there is no one-size-fits-all solutions, one of my most important responsibilities as an organizer is to quickly learn how my client thinks of their stuff. Random items are not random for a creative person. Their feelings about an item matter very much whether it's an unused or ragged item. I'm not an organizer who says get rid of it just because an item falls under a category like "haven't worn it in over a year" or "I've never used it". What if the main block to your not wearing or using an item has to do with your disorganization? Does the item inspire you? Do you have space for it? These are more important questions to me. Completion and reaching goals. I love to help people complete those arduous home projects that have been procrastinated on for months or years. I can see the peace and happiness it brings to the people & families I work with. My 12 years experience as a real estate investor also gives me the insights into what it takes to sell your home for the best price, as quickly as possible. I also consult with buyers to be sure they are buying a home that will fit all of their stuff and lifestyle so that they don’t have buyer’s remorse after they’ve taken possession of their new home (when it’s too late).

I am a newly empty nester who also moved all the way across the country at the same time. I was overwhelmed with the amount of stuff I had AND I needed help decorating my new home for just the two of us (and my little dog, who loved Ginger immediately). Ginger made me feel at ease the moment I met her. She took the time to fully understand me and my needs by asking the right questions and listening closely and patiently to my responses, even taking notes at times. She gave clear and easy to follow instructions and worked by my side the entire time. After the first day with Ginger, I felt I could really use more help from her and decided to purchase her 20 hours package. On a few occasions, I was called away to deal with other tasks, like working with the cable man, and Ginger kept working by organizing or sorting without me. When I returned, she would show me what she did and how it followed the process she put in place. She NEVER threw anything away or donated anything without my permission. Throughout the organization process, Ginger would ask me how I felt about what we've done so far or how I felt about the items we were putting away. I never felt pressured to throw away or donate anything even though we threw away several garbage bags and boxes full of items, and Ginger drove away with several boxes of donated items in her car to take to the charity of my choice. Ginger also took the time to explain her vision for each room or area and offered suggestions on alternate decorating options. She researched questions and always followed up. She shared pictures on her phone to help me see what she was talking about. She even went shopping with me, so I could make sure I purchased the bins that were right for me and our organization projects. Without her there, I would have been so lost and overwhelmed. Now, I have a kitchen that is set up beautifully, a master bathroom that is organized and functional, a huge start to my sewing and crafts area, and she even helped me with my big mess of a jewelry box. My husband is very happy with how the house is progressing as well and took advantage of Ginger's advice in his projects (such as organizing the garage, arranging the office space and placement of pictures) along the way as well! Thanks to Ginger, I feel empowered with the tools, education and her suggestions to continue to organize and decorate my house in a way that I will love. I will definitely call on her expertise again in the future should I need help incorporating newly acquired estate furniture or if I get stumped. Thank you Ginger!

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    I offer a discount for any package of 20+ hours and people really seem to love the discount. Typically, I work 4-6 hours per session, but I will work up to 8 hours in one session if necessary. I have found that working with my client for 5 hours at a time, keeps them motivated and they end up getting a lot of their homework done before our next session - which saves them money and reinforces the skills I'm passing on to them.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    Listening, observing and diving in. The only way for me to learn about a new client, and for them to understand how the process work, we simply need to dive in and get to work. We start in 1 room, in 1 area with 1 item, and the rest of it just flows. But I'm periodically checking in to see if there's any rushed or overwhelming feelings so we can slow it down if needed, and I can ease their minds by simply saying "nothing goes unless you say so." You are always the one in control; I'm simply a guide, teacher, motivational coach and emotional supporter.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    As of December 2019, I've been certified by NAPO and the BCPO. It requires 1500 hours of skills transferring to my clients, some courses and an exam (with a nice audit at the end to make sure I'm being truthful about those hours). I took all of the NAPO courses in 2010 when I first started my business in New Jersey and I'm constantly reading books, blogs and keeping up with the latest technology in home organization, time management and business solutions.
