- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I’ve been working with an experienced piano mentor on big projects including rebuilds & restoration for a few years. I’ve been tuning pianos for 7 years now and am great at hearing. I also attended the Piano Technicians Guild National Convention and took classes and hands on training from some of best piano technicians in the piano industry.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My parents bought me a 1930s baby grand piano about 6 years ago. While at the Family Music store I met a piano tuner Kelly Dugger and we hired her to tune my piano. I had been thinking about piano technology for a little while, but watching her work was fascinating! She explained some of the process and it just solidified that this is what I was supposed to be doing. I started attending Piano Technicians Guild meetings and became a member of the guild in 2017.
