FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is pretty simple. I charge by the hour according to the type of job. Portrait sessions, for example, are less expensive hourly than weddings. I sit with each client individually and do my best to work within your budget.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I think it may have been a karma thing, honestly. My mother bought me my first Brownie camera for my 10th birthday. She had more photographs of details of her 1974 Toyota Corolla than she knew what to do with. She'd sit with me, being a artist (a painter) herself and talk about framing, color, and light with me. I started in photography classes during the 80's while still in high-school and immediately fell in love with the process. By my senior year I was teaching black and white darkroom techniques and procedures for a less-than-active instructor who had a penchant for donuts and chocolate milk. Later, I would attend what is now CSN (The College of Southern Nevada) in the Commercial Photography program and began shooting head shots and family portraits for whomever would ask. I've spent the last 25 years managing and shooting for various studios and corporate photographers and have loved every day.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Weddings, on-location portraiture like families and high-school seniors, and babies are the cornerstones of my business. However, Executive Portraiture and commercial/product photography is also a major part of what I do.
