FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing varies according to what type of class is preferred. Example: 45 minute Private class $50.00 / 90 minute Private class $100.00 For low cost groups (Seniors) I require at least 10 students per group & all payments up front. Example: $5.00 per student/ $40.00 per student for an 8 week course _____________________________________________ Beginners Course: $50.00 for 5 classes (full payment upfront) approx. 1 hour in length I believe yoga should be affordable and available to Everyone!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started practicing yoga in 1998. I signed up only once per week through a local school program. The other was a tai chi class that I didn't care for so I ended up taking yoga 2x per week. I fell in love! I felt a confidence I hadn't felt in a while. It got me "back in touch" so to speak. I continued for many seasons and really liked my teacher. She called one day asking me to cover for her when she wasn't feeling well and although I balked at first she convinced me that I could do it. So, I did. Well, as they say: The rest is history :) I accompanied her to a teachers convention up at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health and eventually took her up on the idea of getting certified. It was a great transition from other work I had that was no longer satisfying and I started teaching full time. ~ I've never looked back! ~
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Lets meet! I believe in sit-down meetings face to face. I like to hear what potential students/clients want to achieve through beginning or rekindling their yoga practice. I believe yoga practiced on the mat can be broadened to off-the-mat practice as well, which in turn improves not only their lives but the world in which they live. I believe in being realistic but also encourage creative thinking and exploring. *Have an open heart AND an open mind
