FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In this business you can never stop learning. If you do you'll quickly become stuck in a rut. I read various books and magazines on photography and related topics. I am constantly shooting, studying others work, and figuring out how a shot was done. I am always trying new things and experimenting with different techniques. If I'm not shooting, I'm watching technique videos online. I also attend the occasional workshop.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I do sport photography. The look on people's faces during the event, the concentration, determination and skill make the shots. During a recent barrel race event I captured over 300+ riders and each rider had their own unique style of racing - some even had multiple horses which changed the way they rode. This allowed me to capture each rider and horse personality in the portrait.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Photography is not an overnight obsession for me. It's been an on going life long passion of mine. After more than 20 years of shooting I still read books and watch videos and take seminars on how to improve my craft and explore new ways of shooting. The technology is constantly changing and this requires learning new ways to shoot. I'm open to trying anything once. I choose to do photography. I love capturing the moment, that priceless expression on the persons face during a competitive event. I shoot to inspire.
