Powerhouse provides value for the work performed, and they are flexible. Originally, we were going to refinish the floors in four rooms, but we discovered that we were happier with having one room refinished, and the other three rooms carpeted. The company was able to accommodate our desires. We dealt with nine different people associated with Powerhouse including people who analyzed the ability to * Remove squeaks without damaging underlying hardwood floors (not possible); * Floor refinisher; * Molding installers; * Estimate carpeting size; * Minimize the amount of carpeting to select; * Selecting the carpet that best fit our needs; * Purchasing carpet and padding (different vendors); * Carpet installation; * Cleaning; and * Moving heavy furniture, as needed. There were little things that needed to be adjusted, and Michael oversaw different crews who worked with us to make the required adjustments. Personnel were courteous, knew their business, kept appointments, and did neat work. Prices were reasonable. We will use them again. The following is not related to Powerhouse, but are two hints that may be useful to you: 1. If you refinish your floors, there is considerable smell from the varnish. If you leave wet coffee grounds in the room, and baking soda in a separate dish, it will help to absorb the smell. 2. I painted one of the rooms myself, and I found that using the new high-quality 3/8" nap rollers did not work as well as using Purdy rollers.
Jerry was very nice and offered a great quote for the job. He completed an interior paint job, which was difficult as the walls near the stairway reach to about 22 feet. Our first experience with Troy was in 2009 when he worked on our bedroom extension and remodel of the master bath at our home in Grand Terrace, CA. The entire job took about 6 weeks as we had to remove a patio and deck in the process. From start to finish, Troy was professional in his work and very easy to talk to and make decisions with. He did an excellent job with the framing and roofing as well as the installation of new bathroom fixtures and tile work, both in the tub area and the flooring. If there was something we questioned or asked to have done differently (i.e., taking back a bathtub to replace it with a larger, soaking tub), Troy was always accommodating and happy to do what we wanted. When that project was completed, Troy framed and installed a new deck and sidewalk in our backyard.Over the next four years, we had more projects that we called Troy for help with and he was always ready and willing to come take a look, give a bid, and tackle the work. We had him install attic fans in the house, make and install shutters on the front windows, and paint our house.
