FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I really want to stay competitive, and also realize that a lot of people coming to me are typically in between jobs, so my goal is to keep my prices low. I remember going to have my resume looked at and revamped many years ago when I was in between jobs, and although it was extremely beneficial, it also really put me out for a few weeks! I don't want to do that to anyone! My typical rates are: Resume only: $60 Cover letter help only: $25 Resume & Cover Letter: $85 Online Profile: $25 Resume, Cover Letter, and online profile: $110 Other Business Documents; revamp and revision of documents to include contracts, letters, emails, course descriptions articles and more: $25 per page
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My process is flexible depending on the client and their needs. I have questionnaires they can fill out to use as guides if newly into the process, or we can chat first, or they can send me their resume right away and we can get started. I work on a case by case basis depending on what works best for my clients. I like to make sure that clients are comfortable with me before we start working together. I certainly like to get the chance to review a clients' resume, and then speak to them and let them know what my ideas are. In general, I like to stay in constant contact with them as I am editing, but everyone is different, and timelines for each client are different, so I have to remain flexible in my processes. . If needed, I will initially send my client a short contract, just to make them feel comfortable about my process and policies, and then set up another time to speak on the phone if necessary. From there, I will continue to edit and revamp the resume, asking questions via email and text and even phone along the way until I feel that it is ready to be forwarded back to the client!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently in the process of becoming a certified resume writer, and am becoming more actively involved in professional associations for resume writers as well. I have been working in professional environments for many years, and have a strong business background. I have been a hiring manager for several companies, and have a good sense of what companies look for in the resume process. Additionally, I have a way with words, and spicing up the resume' to make even the dullest position seem to have some sparkle!
