FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Absolutely. I am currently in a doctoral program at Notre Dame. I also keep on top of recent pedagogical trends and research so that I can better address students individual needs and better implement technology (if necessary) into my services.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
It varies. Sometimes clients need a higher grade on a standardized test. Sometimes they need to develop a research paper and don't know where to start, or have done half of the project and have hit a wall. I always patiently help clients discover ways to address the task at and to make the experience meaningful to them.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
For standardized tests: These tests do not measure intelligence but rather measure how well one knows that particular test. The greatest writer and reader in the world can still fail the verbal portion of a standardized tests because they are not used to reading the specific types of material (usually rather dry) that appear on standardized tests. Also, it is very rare that someone is naturally adept at answering timed multiple choice question on something they have just had a minute to browse through. I will teach clients how to decipher the test itself, which will always lead to a higher score. On writing: That good writing consists of more than just good grammar. Some of the best writers I have encountered in my profession have struggled with grammar yet wrote beautifully and expressively. In sessions, we will certainly focus on grammar but we will also focus on expression.
