Introduction: I am an artist teacher and graduate of Hunter College where I studied musical performance in piano. I studied basic composition, music theory, music history, and classical piano.
I am a multifaceted musician, writer, and leader who loves all forms of artistic expression and is willing to work with your program.
I have experience teaching performance poetry while volunteering my services for a writing workshop called "What's In a Word?" I also do freelance workshops for literacy through teaching poetry and hip-hop music. I have experience as a writer, performer, and codirector in the poetry showcase called "Word" which was performed at The Point CDC Community Center.
I tutored children in various scholastic subjects at Scores Tutoring Center. Additionally, I have experience as a development intern at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe where I did research on grants and grant writing and, subsequently, worked as a sound technician. I am also a professional MC with the band Boom Bits.
We have done different events around the city, and I am particularly proud of our food drive event at the Point CDC in March 2013. I want to make a difference in my community, by setting an example of activity -- as an individual both through my ambitions and my work.
