We had serious issues with our top end Carrier HVAC system and had numerous Carrier certified techs look at it to no avail. I posted the job and Slava reached out requesting to learn more about the job. He was very kind in making time for us on an emergency basis. He came promptly at 9am after picking up all the parts that he needed. He was extremely methodical in his approach and quickly diagnosed the problem. He spent hours testing the pressures, vacuuming and cleaning the system, correcting the errors made by previous folks, replacing parts, cleaning areas and fixing several issues that no one to date had been able to diagnose or fix.
As a result of his diligent work, we have for the first time a perfectly functioning AC system right in time for the heat. He was patient, focused (completely concentrated on our job - no outside calls etc) and you can tell he really cares about doing a stellar job. He is a true experienced professional who takes pride in his work. He took the time to explain everything he was doing and his plan of action. At the end, he spent time educating us on how to better maintain our system and steps we could take. He was honest about what was necessary and what was nice to haves. He was also very reasonable in his pricing and we were glad to tip him. We are happy to have found Slava and will be using him as our go-to HVAC maintenance and repair professional. I highly recommend him.

Slava helped me out with inspection, repair, and maintenance of my old split AC in NYC. Due to a big gut renovation at my apartment, I was instructed by my contractor that the units were quite old and should be replaced. They also told me that because my units were custom made and old technology, the new ones will be tricky to get and obviously will cost a fortune. I had already asked many other engineers/HVAC guys to see and give an estimate. I luckily came across Slava who was quite responsive and came by to inspect the unit. In his first trip, he inspected the condenser and found it to be in good condition and suggested that replacing will be silly and wasteful. He ran detailed analysis using his measurement machine to check the cooling, and other metrics. He found the unit to be not
cooling effectively and clogging up due to lack of Freon.
He had to make another trip to replace Freon. He ran more measurement to make sure that the unit was now working perfectly. It wasn't due to clogging of outside vents on my condenser. For that, even in heavy rain he went outside to my neighbors building and climbed fire escape 4 floors to check the outside vents. He found them to be really clogged (pics attached) so he came back and with my approval chemically washed them by climbing again.
The tests after that were perfect. He also inspected the air handler and found it to be in good condition. He recommended ongoing maintenance and other relevant suggestions to make sure that it is a smoother process in future.
I feel lucky to have found Slava. He was a pleasure to work with, knows his work better than many in the industry, is quite industrious, takes pride in his work and just the right guy you want to be on your side. He will be my guy in future to fix any issues with my AC unit. Last but not
the least, he was by far the most reasonable guy I came across who did the work perfectly and in time for me. I have him a 25% tip which still put me way below what others were charging me. Highly recommended!!!!!

One morning as the oppressive summer heat began setting in, the dated wall air conditioner (PTAC) in my living room abruptly went from churning out semi-cool air to what felt like stagnant, recycled, room-temperature air. I contacted Power Saving Star and immediately felt that I was speaking with highly-skilled, knowledgeable professionals. In my initial conversation, Slava the owner gave a well-informed and thoughtful explanation of the possible situation at hand. I scheduled an appointment for him to inspect the air conditioner and give his assessment.
He described the unique features and challenges of my particular air conditioner which was the original unit from when my building was constructed. He noted how my building had failed to properly maintain both my living room and bedroom air conditioners in the almost 20 years I’ve lived here. Slava then outlined the pricing for parts and labor as well as the pros and cons of repairing the existing unit vs replacing it altogether. After careful consideration, I elected to replace the living room unit and do a non-toxic, chemical wash on the bedroom unit for optimal efficiency.
I scheduled the appointment to have the job done within a few days. The necessary paperwork was promptly submitted and approved by my building. Words cannot describe the meticulous attention to detail Slava and his counterpart demonstrated every step of the way on this job. Particularly in the case of executing the non-toxic chemical wash of the bedroom unit, the guys went way above and beyond to get the job done right with little to no necessary clean-up when all was said and done. From the time of my first call with Slava to when I switched on the air conditioners at the completion of the job, Power Saving Star provided world-class service all the way.
