It was a blast getting to work with Christian and his wife. We hired them for engagement photos, and my partner and I aren't the standard couple wanting the standard wedding deal. We appreciated how flexible they were, their attention to detail, and overall creative spirit. It was also a plus to have two dog lovers, as my service dog was also part of the shoot. I would hire them again, and highly recommend.

Marilyn Lamana Photography – Engagement Shoot (Paid for an extra half hour / extra location): Pros: Marilyn is energetic, adaptable, great sunny & professional demeanor. Cons: A less experienced photographer, her camera kit does not have a ton of lenses, etc. (it is really just her and her trusty camera). Months before we ended up doing the actual engagement shoot, we began communicating with Marilyn. She is professional & responsive (whether through email or text). Unfortunately, my fiancé’s grandfather passed away shortly after our engagement & Marilyn was lovely & patient with us while we healed. May 11th, 2019 at 6 am we met for our engagement photo shoot in the Dumbo / Brooklyn Bridge area. Marilyn is energetic and adaptable. She met us at 6 am and somehow managed a demeanor rivaling the rising sun. She was always willing to stop & take photos in random spots that spoke to us as a couple between the areas we were intentionally heading. She managed to grab sneaky candid shots I was unaware she was taking, as my fiancé Sam, putting his hat on me and me bopping him with it. She was more than on board with grabbing shots in random spots that spoke to us & while we intentionally went to my fiancé’s parents’ brownstone (for the quintessential Brooklyn shot) she was completely fine with also grabbing impromptu shots in the backyard. Overall, we loved our experience with Marilyn & intend to use her for our wedding photography as well. Marilyn is an absolute joy to work with & her energy is contagious. However, if you want overly stylized or photoshopped final pictures or a photographer to pose you & bring props, this is not the photographer for you. The final pictures were gorgeous, but us (which is exactly what we wanted).

Philip was amazing to work with from even before the actual session. He responded to every question I had in a timely manner. He not only understood my vision but had so many great ideas. He communicated with me regularly until the day of the session and was punctual. He knew it would be a little awkward for us with posing for photos but made us feel comfortable. His wife was also so sweet and helped with ideas and visions. They’re such a lovely couple! Philip had the files ready for us in less than 24 hours. I was so impressed. I loved every image. I shared some with my sister in law who is ready to book a session with him when she comes to NY. I would definitely work with him again and recommend him wholeheartedly. Philip - I wish you much success.

I would like the review to be as honest as possible and not biased in any way.   I would to start by pointing out that Noel is very flexible with timings. I had hired him to capture my engagement. Since this is a surreptitious affair, not having someone who was rigid with timings was a big plus. (My fiancee and I had traveled to MA to NY during that weekend).  He was also very responsive. In spite of having a cast on a leg a few days before the shoot, he  still wanted to go ahead with the shoot. So kudos to him for not aborting.  Now to the negative points. Noel is a one-man army. So in case of any unforeseen circumstances, you might have a half-fit Noel for the job. I wonder how much better his shots would've been if only he was fully operational. While I don't blame him for his predicament, I wish he'd informed me well in advance that he wasn't fully mobile.  A couple of my friends were scheduled to pick him up but found it extremely difficult to reach him. This added unnecessary anxiety. I would expect more professionalism. To sum it up, I'd certainly recommend Noel. He did a good enough job and got the photos ready in quick time.  Hopefully, this review will help Noel prepare for future assignments and also potential clients.
