Daniel’s Drum Lessons

Over my career as a professional musician I have been involved in a wide variety of genres. I believe this to be my strength in teaching and sharing knowledge. With such a diverse musical background, coming from jazz, rock, folk, punk, indie etc., I have the unique ability to share how all of this music is related to each other. This also helps students to see the influence of jazz/bam on other music and it’s influences at the time of its creation. I am passionate about giving students an individualized experience when it comes to private lessons. Though there are fundamentals that must be covered/attained, all students learn a little bit differently.  Because music is intertwined with the heart (think Milford Graves), it is important to also understand how stress, emotion, and health can affect the way we learn and play.  Another major teaching point for me, is talking about the possibility of injury when it comes to deep study on an instrument. It is something most professional musicians deal with, including myself, and something that I have personal experience managing and working through. This knowledge is imperative for the student. I teach with passion and excitement for music. I hope to share and develop that with my students.
