Introduction: I am passionate about giving my students the tools to explore their own creativity and to discover their unique voice on the drumset. Having played the drums for 14 years, and studied with masters like Lenny White, Ari Hoenig, and Billy Drummond, I emphasize technique, exploration of diverse musical styles, and an attitude of curiosity and play when approaching music via the drumset. I also incorporate contemporary methods of composition using production softwares like Ableton and Logic if students show interest! Ultimately, I prioritize meeting students where they are and catering lessons to students unique interests and learning styles. Let's make some music together!!!

Isaiah Hazzard puts his heart into everything he touches. One of the warmest and most sincere teachers/musical collaborators I’ve ever learned from and had the honor to work with. Not only does he have great creative instincts but his ability to communicate these ideas is what makes him an absolute master of his craft. I’ve taken drum lessons from Isaiah which have challenged and opened up my own personal skills as well as enriching my relationship to the instrument itself. When I’ve worked with him as a musical collaborator, it never feels forced and he is always there to listen first, then act in the best interest of the song. I cannot recommend working with or learning from Hazzard Sounds enough!

Taking lessons with Isaiah was the greatest joy! He is a fantastic teacher. He is very knowledgeable, structured and really encouraged me to be creative. My rhythmic feel, drum technique as well as overall understanding and appreciation of music improved severely in the time I studied with Isaiah. I highly recommend him as a drum teacher!

Isaiah is an excellent musician and a wonderful teacher. The transition to online/remote drum lessons for my son over the past year was seamless thanks to Isaiah’s flexibility and responsiveness. He turned a difficult situation for students into an enjoyable and rewarding learning experience. Isaiah motivates his students and helps them to set goals and understand their progress. I highly recommend him to prospective drum students interested in learning a variety of styles from a versatile and talented young musician.

Isaiah Hazzard's creative spirit and deep knowledge of rhythms and their roots inform his textured and exploratory drumming. He can uplift any setting with the joy that is evident in his approach to music, be it jazz trio, rock band, or anything in between. As an educator, he is patient and thorough, eager to help others enrich their rhythmic knowledge.

Isaiah Hazzard is an incredibly passionate and skilled musician in addition to being a sensitive and supportive teacher. He meets you where you’re at and will undoubtedly help any student hone the tools necessary to improve nit only their drumming but their musicality as a whole!
