MY FINANCIAL PLANNING NEEDS Boomer generation. I stepped into the principal role of managing my mother's financial portfolio after the loss of my father. This included IRAs, a quarter of which were heavily invested in stocks. Plus the real nest egg, her real estate. Being a Boomer, I was also thinking a lot about my own retirement. My financial goals involved pinpointing when retirement would be feasible (given my expected lifestyle). I wanted to identify that magic number that would comfortably support my goals. I decided to search for a financial advisor and after some research, I choose Al Faber from Woodson Wealth Management. REASONS I'M RECOMMENDING AL FABER: AL FABER IS A FEE-BASED FINANCIAL PLANNER - it's very important that the financial planning advice I receive is offered in the best interest of me & my family - all tailored to our specific circumstances. I did NOT want financial advice inspired or tainted by the commission on products sold under the arms of their employer. GOAL ORIENTED - Al immediately confirmed what my financial goals were and set up the required tasks to achieve those goals FLEXIBLE - Al was flexible with meeting times, meeting cadence, and the communication medium I was most comfortable with DEPENDABLE - Al was always prompt and prepared with an agenda. He made me feel my input was always valued EXPERIENCED - Al's experience on wall street was helpful. He explained complex financial ideas in layman's terms and provided hypotheticals to reinforce key concepts with me. I like the tools Al used and that these tools will allow us to pick up right where we left off at our next engagement FUTURE FINANCIAL ENGAGEMENTS The whole experience was enjoyable, I learned a lot. I've decided to continue our engagements, to confirm whether I'm still on track to meet my retirement and financial goals.
