Joe Tollefsen

Hi! My name is Joe Tollefsen. I have many years of experience playing and teaching in different styles, and I love to teach students of all levels. I have a BM in guitar performance from the Peabody Institute, and and a Master's in performance at the Yale School of Music, where I also taught undergraduates and non-majors. I teach based on each individual's goals and strengths, and I think it's important to keep the love of the music and instrument at the heart of our work together. To this end, I believe teaching needs to be flexible and able to adapt to each student's needs. It's always an interesting and exciting journey! I am currently teaching out of my apartment in Bushwick, Brooklyn, and am a Graduate Center Fellow at the CUNY Graduate Center.
