- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Hourly rate is $60, but I generally charge a minimum of $75 to show up. That's because hauling tools around the 5 boros of NYC is challenging and time consuming. However, once I'm there I'm happy to work with you on price and materials to get your job done as quickly and efficiently as possible. If the job is 4 hours or more I can drop the rate, and if it's all day or multiple days, even more so. If delivery, pickup etc is required rate depends on distance, size/amount and how many flights of stairs. If I need to hire a helper, generally $25/hr extra.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I always like to speak in person or on the phone, but it's best to get as much info as possible upfront in an email or on Thumbtack: Location, desired date & time, dimensions, photos etc. If it's a big job I will come to the site to give an estimate; otherwise I get the necessary info and show up at the appointed time.
