Hired on Thumbtack
As you can see in the attached screenshots of our Thumbtack chat logs, Crownscape Property Services explicitly agreed to a flat quote of $250 that included land clearing, trimming, and haul-away.
They called the evening before to inquire about arriving at 8am stead of 10 am , I thought that was unprofessional but thought something must of happened. So we agreed on 9am; they arrived at 840am and I should the pro worker with glasses around and specific details regarding the work, he confirmed it he understood the job in its entirety and that he was capable of completing.
About an hour into working, they completely breached this agreement. They refused to touch the trees saus it's too much work, failed to clear the fence, left 15 heavy black trash bags of raw debris in my backyard because they said it was not included in price and it'll be about $40 cash to take it away, and abandoned my mulch without laying it down. They only did the two sides of the house with mulch and left the backyard because he said they had somewhere to be soon
Furthermore, they attempted to force an off-platform payment via Zelle for the job. When I refused and said I felt more comfortable with paying on app, the contractor repeatedly rang my doorbell and spammed my phone to intimidate me while I was actively on the phone with a Thumbtack support representative on what to do(which can be verified via your phone line recordings).
A few minutes later, the pro with glasses finally sent to thumbtacker payment request
( Was a zelle or cash app originally)-tje representative on line suggest that I pay so that they leave , I felt purely fearful for my safety and to get them to leave my property I paid.
I have attached the original contract agreement screenshots, the unitemized invoice they tried to use off-platform, and photos of the abandoned 15 trash bags.
