Carmen came into a situation where an elderly tenant really needed help organizing. He was floundering and there was little time. Carmen was kind, sensitive, dedicated and accomplished the near impossible! Couldn’t have done it without her. She is very careful to provide an accurate of what she had done in each session. I have a large basement, garage, and shed which overtime all became filled with stuff that I could no longer use them in the way I wanted or needed. Over several years my attempts at purging were incremental but didn't make much of a dent because the volume of stuff needing to be sorted and organized was overwhelming. I often found myself stuck not knowing where to start, not having the time to get it all done, and feeling disabled by the mental stress of all of it. Carmen supported me with a plan to purge - to sort and remove items. And then further refine the sort and purge until we went through every single item making final decisions as to what was valuable, necessary, or needed discarding. She was extremely helpful in overcoming my stress because in many ways she did a lot of the thinking for me by providing the structure and the process, and I didn’t have to figure that out. I found that using her process everything went smoothly and I appreciate her ability to hold me accountable to my own goals. I am very impressed by her level of engagement and support. The whole thing has been a great success and liberating to see walls I haven't seen in many years!

Working with Carmen was fantastic! I had a room of doom that overwhelmed me every time I opened the door; it was filled with anything and everything, and I had no idea where to start. Carmen came in and helped create order out of chaos - she is both kind and focused, and was able to help me organize in a way that was effective, but gentle. The room is now a much needed office and guest bedroom - it's just wonderful. There's no way I could have done it without her.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I work off of a baseline price. However, final quotes will be determined after a consultation to determine the parameters of the job: size, difficulty, time needed, etc.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When working with a new customer, and prior to starting a project, I like to discuss work-style preferences to ensure that we work and communicate with each other in ways that work for both of us in order to achieve the best results.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Professional Member of NAPO (National Association for Productivity and Organizing Professionals). And I am also committed to abide by their Code of Ethics (see napo.net/page/about_ethics ). Also my career experience in education and real estate have made me a specialist in people - specifically working with a variety of people (ie: educators, lawyers, bankers, architects, parents, contractors, etc.) to collaborate on complex projects. This requires patience and expert listening -- understanding what people desire and figuring out how to best to get there.
