An instrument is a new, exciting tool to express yourself. Learning it should be a joyful discovery, not a chore. Like all learning, however, focus and structure are key. Our teachers - themselves lifelong learners, like all passionate artists - have a wide set of tools to make sure their students learn to learn, acquire the discipline to practice autonomously and develop problem-solving skills, that are useful much beyond music. No two musicians are the same, and so no two children (or adults) learn the same way. Every student has an individualized curriculum, built around their natural passions and specific needs. Every learning plan covers different aspects of musical literacy, including rhythm, harmony, reading, improvising, interpreting, memorizing. Most of all, music is a social activity. Music students who learn to play together also learn the value of listening, cooperating and creating together - “breathing” music together.
