Depending on the needs of the catering experience, our price ranges from $12- $20 a person.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We like to gather as much information as possible from our guests, such as the occasion, the headcount, the time frame, and any special dietary needs. We can create a customized catering experience for each event. Each client has direct access to the manager at any time for any special needs or revisions. We provide a proposal that explains in detail what we will deliver according to the clients' expectations. We can turn around a catering experience in less than 24 hours.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I used to work in corporate advertising. Although I enjoyed the work, I knew my passion was in the restaurant industry. While working in advertising I met with different restaurant owners, and later attended a entrepreneurship program where I developed my concept. I knew I needed to get food experience at some point, if I want to give this concept a try. I found out about a pop up market in Brooklyn, called the Dekalb Market, and pitched my business concept to the coordinators, and they gladly accepted me. My first day at the pop up market, we did great. We continued to replenish our food inventory because it was so busy. At the end of the market, I added up our sale and our expenses and come to find out that I made $1 profit. That was all I needed to come back for the next week. After a year had passed, I decided to quit my advertising job to pursue Mrs. Dorsey' Kitchen as a full time project.
