FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My standard lesson rate is based on 60-minute sessions, which allows time for depth, technique work, and real progress. I also offer 30- and 45-minute options depending on age and goals. I’m happy to discuss lesson length and frequency to find a fit that works for each student. I do not require long-term contracts — lessons are scheduled weekly or bi-weekly depending on availability and preference.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We usually start with a short conversation about goals, experience level, and availability. From there, we schedule an initial lesson to see if it’s a good fit. During the first lesson, I assess fundamentals, tone, and technique, and we create a simple, realistic plan for moving forward. My goal is to make students feel comfortable, encouraged, and excited about playing.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a Master’s Degree from the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University, where I studied with Alan Stepansky, former Principal Cellist of the New York Philharmonic. I also hold a Bachelor’s Degree and Performance Certificate from the State University of New York at Fredonia, where I studied with Dr. Natasha Farny. I have over 10 years of professional performance and private teaching experience in both classical and electric cello.
