Sarah was a tremendous help in getting my mini Australian shepherd (Leo) trained. I had spent a lot of money on a previous trainer with little to no results. From a friend's referral, I had heard about Sarah and how effective she was at training. Eventually, I hired Sarah as my new dog trainer and I am extremely satisfied with that decision. Sarah has the personality, knowledge and commitment to ensure Leo got properly trained and most importantly, that Leo respected me. I love how Sarah does not use bribes/treats or punishment to achieve desired behaviors while training, but rather positive reinforcement, proper communication and effective body language. I was amazed to see how quickly my dog's behavior turned around (and how smart that little guy was walking all over me!). Thankfully, my dog is now fully trained, respects me, my family, my guests, my furniture and even strangers. No more bad habits, jumping on people, pulling on the leash, running at the door, barking, and taking advantage of me because he is cute. Most importantly, I can now effectively communicate with my dog and as a result of that we have a much better relationship. I highly recommend Sarah, not only was she awesome at getting Leo trained, but she was also a pleasure to work with. 10/10

Sarah has been amazing with training our dog. She really listens to our concerns about our dog's behavior and uses that information to tailor her trainings with us. Not only is she training our dog, but she is training and teaching us what we need to know when she's not around. I also love the way Sarah helps us understand the reasons for our dogs behavior and the psychology around it. She also makes herself available to us and sticks to her commitments. We would be lost without Sarah and are so excited to continue to work with her. If you are thinking you are in need of some help with your dog, do not look past Sarah - she is guaranteed to help and you will love her!!!

My husband and I just moved here to Manhattan from the Suburbs in the Bay Area California. Our pup Sammy has been exposed to a lot of major change in just one month, and we have never used a dog training service before. Sammy's environment has changed from a lot more space to a much smaller one, and he is now being exposed to a lot more dogs and people. In the two weeks since we have moved to Manhattan, Sammy's separation anxiety and anxiety due to the smallest noise, movement or not even being in the same room with us, definitely heightened. Sammy would bark for hours until he would exhaust himself. Sammy also has some prior behavioral issues that we never helped to correct, such as jumping on people, barking at other dogs, and boundary issues-including following us everywhere, jumping and sleeping on furniture he is not supposed to and going into rooms he is not allowed in. In just a few hours of reaching out to Bark Busters, I received a phone call and had a brief evaluation of Sammy over the phone. We were given information about the training process and information about Sarah, and we were given a training appointment for the next day (Saturday) which worked perfectly for our schedule. In just the couple hours that Sarah was in our home, she went straight to work! We saw results immediately! Honestly, my husband and I were in awe. Sarah is definitely an expert in her field. She really observed Sammy's behavior, asked us a plethora of questions, about our schedules, home environment and the problem areas we wanted to address moving forward. Sarah was direct with us and really went over training exercises repetitively until both my husband and I were comfortable doing them on our own and the results were immediate. In just 24 hours, we have seen a huge change in Sammy. My husband and I will continue with the training here at home, but Sarah has reassured that we have a lifetime access to her expertise and services via phone, email and even home visits. In just one day, Sammy has listened to us when we stop him from coming into our bedroom. He hasn't barked in the apartment at all today, and we will observe tomorrow, when the construction noise continues, but I know I have the tools to practice keeping Sammy's anxiety at bay. Sammy also has not urinated anywhere in the apartment when he gets frustrated if we leave the room. She really helped my husband and I understand Sammy's needs as well as understand that we are in control, not Sammy and provided us with tools to be confident and not confrontational with Sammy. We just want to thank Sarah for all her positive and upbeat help. We know that it will be a process, but we are excited to have Sarah's help moving forward. We had Sarah as our trainer and she was awesome. Very nice and easy to talk to about our puppy and had great advice. She listened to our issues we were having and gave us a few techniques to help with crate training and separation anxiety our puppy was experiencing.We practiced these techniques together and have been doing them for about a week now. What a huge difference!! Crate anxiety is way way less and so is barking and accidents in crate. Our pup is only 5 months, so there is only so much we can do right now, but Sarah offered to come back when hes older for more training, which is awesome as we have the lifetime membership. Sarah is great and the training really works. We are very happy with our decision to call Bark Busters.

I have trained with Sarah for three hours so far and my pup and I have learned so much from her. Her presence is calming and she gets right into the work with you, showing you how to be a more confident dog person in a way that is both attuned to you and your dog's needs. The impact on my dog is mind-blowing; he is a 10 lb rescue from a rural area so the city is full of terrifying new stimuli for him. Sarah has helped me create boundaries with him both in and outside of the home and attend to his needs in ways that have significantly changed our relationship and his life. I highly, highly, recommend making an investment in the lifetime support for your pup. Once you have your first session with Sarah you will find yourself wanting to have the ongoing support that she has to offer. I feel very fortunate to have met Sarah and have her expertise and support for the rest of my little dog's life.
