Rosita was amazing! She altered my wedding dress that had multiple layers and did such a phenomenal job. Every fitting with her was professional and she managed to get my dress done on time. She also was able to tailor my Mum and Aunts dresses very last minute and they came out great!! I would highly recommend her for all tailoring jobs.

ROSITA THANK YOU! I cannot say enough amazing things about Rosita and her kindness plus skill! I needed a qipao fitted last minute for the new year and many people didn’t know how to tailor the garment. Rosita knew right away what to do and how to make it flattering for my body shape. I wanted to wear my grandmother's wedding dress, which was handmade in the 1940s, and which my mother also wore for her wedding in the '70s. One problem: my mom and grandmother were much smaller than me! I knew the dress had to be altered, but I was terrified of ruining this family heirloom. Thankfully, my sister-in-law swooped in and polled her friends at the Fashion Institute of Technology: Rosita was their top recommendation for altering vintage dresses. Using extra fabric from the train and by letting out seams, Rosita made the dress bigger without compromising its original design. She also altered my other grandmother's wedding gown, turning it into a cocktail dress for the rehearsal. This involved painstakingly replacing bits of damaged lace on the bodice with extra fabric from the sleeves (the dress had been made sleeveless). Rosita is a perfectionist and therefore, with my eternal gratitude, both dresses were absolutely perfect. Thank you so incredibly much, Rosita!!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Depends on the project.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Speak to the customer to get a sense of their vision for the dress. Make suggestions, if necessary, based on my expertise and taking into consideration any budget constraints. Supply a preliminary quote based on our discussion. However, a more precise quote is given after a fitting with the customer and all alterations are identified.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
30 years of sewing experience. I respect tradition but do think "outside of the box" thus am in the unique position of being able to relate to a customer's vision.
