Andy S. says, "Communicative – When my plumber canceled last minute, Miguel was the first of 3 to respond on Thumbtack and quickly took the job. He explained each step before acting and confirmed before proceeding. Competent – We had 2 unrelated issues, one more urgent than the other. It was not a simple repair but Miguel completed both in 2.5 days. He opened our ceiling, replaced a custom-shaped toilet waste bend pipe easily 60 years old, plus a broken plastic tub drain and all of the piping to the soil pipe. He used quality materials and replaced questionable parts while the ceiling was open. Not perfect: he initially used PVC (against code), and one fixture leaked, requiring a return visit Not Clean – Beyond our prep, he took few steps to protect property. No shop vac, relied on our dustpan, left cosmetic damage, and walls stained from sludge due to no coverings. We did a lot of cleanup. Overpriced – We probably won’t hire again due to cost. We understand emergencies come at a premium cost but Miguel charged much more than any other plumber our building has hired. He wasn’t upfront about pricing and leaned into upsells. For example, casually offering to snake a slow drain cost $650 and then he replaced the whole line anyway. He charged for unusable PVC and applied a 25% markup on materials, including on tax and CC fees (adding $80), without disclosure. In hindsight, every conversation felt like it needed “how much will that cost?”"See more

First, Oleksandr refinished our bathtub, and it came out very nice. A couple of months later, something was dropped in the bathtub, and a large scratch appeared. We contacted Oleksandr and he told us that physical damage is not covered by the warranty. Beside the point that bathtub usually used every day and sometimes something will be drop in bathtub. We agreed to pay for the repair again. However, about 36–40 hours after the second application, the paint began to peel and look scrambled. We contacted Oleksandr again, but he once again told us it was not covered by the warranty. It is clear that the second application was not done correctly, but he refused to redo the job. Job was redone. Issue was resolved.
