FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Moving costs vary based on distance, time, and services. Local moves are usually charged hourly, while long-distance moves are priced by weight or volume and mileage. Customers can receive three types of estimates: binding (fixed price), non-binding (subject to change), and binding not-to-exceed (you pay less if the weight is less than estimated). Extra fees may apply for packing, stairs, long carries, or heavy items like pianos. To save money, declutter before moving, compare quotes, book early, and move mid-month or mid-week. Always ask what’s included—most base rates cover loading, unloading, truck, fuel, and basic insurance. Standard liability coverage only offers $0.60 per pound, so consider full value protection for better coverage. Understanding these factors helps customers budget accurately and avoid surprise charges. Always read the contract carefully and ask questions before signing.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our process begins with a detailed consultation to understand the customer’s needs, timeline, and inventory. We then provide a transparent, customized quote based on the move size, distance, and services requested. Once confirmed, we schedule the move and guide the customer through packing tips or offer packing assistance if needed. On moving day, our trained team arrives on time, handles all items with care, and ensures everything is delivered safely. We follow up to ensure complete satisfaction.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My education in the moving industry comes from years of hands-on experience, industry training, and a deep commitment to customer service. I’ve completed safety and logistics courses, learned proper packing and handling techniques, and trained extensively in moving regulations and compliance. I’ve also studied business management to ensure efficient operations and quality service. Most importantly, I’ve built my knowledge by listening to customers, solving real-world challenges, and continually improving with every move we complete.
