Herbert responded immediately to my request for plumbing service, was available to speak on the phone, and showed up promptly at my apartment in Harlem the next day. He diagnosed the problem -- loose kitchen sink faucets -- and fixed it quickly. I would call on him again.

I sent him a message for mother through Thumbtack. He replied with his number. My mother spoke with him. He arrived at my house with gloves and mask about 1 hour later. He identified the problem, provided a quote, my mother accepted and he fixed the problem within about 1 1/2 hours. My mother has stored his number for future repairs. He removed a tremendous weight off her shoulder due to an estimate from another plumber who apparently was just looking to get paid. So, thank you Herbert for your great work, fairness and honesty.

I cannot recommend Herbert enough! If you need someone who is professional, efficient, and produces excellent results, he's the man to hire. He responded to my request (replacing toilet pipe and fixing leaks under the kitchen sink) within minutes, was at my apartment within a few hours, and got to work as soon as he arrived. Everything had been previously 'repaired' by simply wrapping tape around the leaks, and in the case of the bathroom pipe, it was some kind of extra hard cement tape with multiple layers (third photo) that took *a lot* of effort to cut through, as it was basically welded to the pipe and its fitting. In the kitchen, after replacing the taped-up under-sink pipes (first photo - you can see the main part, but there were more smaller pipes and connections that had to be replaced too), he tested the result and quickly saw that the leak wasn't coming from there like I had thought, but from inside the wall 😱... When he finally broke through the foam there, the main pipe inside the wall was completely rotted through 🤯 (second photo) All in all, it took about 3 hours of hard work to remove the rotted pieces, cut the replacements to size, and fit them to the ancient system. And throughout it all, Herbert was super professional and efficient. He also made sure to clean everything once he finished the work, so that the kitchen and the bathroom were both as clean as when he first arrived.

A job well done and fast too. He was on time, clean, professional and so knowledgeable about his craftsmanship. People like him is hard to find. I will keep him on my list of people to call when something goes wrong. Thank You!!!!!
