Introduction: Hi! I'm Alyssa Buer, owner of BABS K9. In June 2018, I decided to embark on a solo journey and created my very own Dog Walking/Pet Sitting business which offers Dog Walking With A Training Twist*, specializing in reactive dog walks, along with above and beyond high quality pet care! Since 2011 I have gained a wealth of hands on experience and knowledge in dog behavior, dog training, and dog socialization. Working in an animal shelter, managing a dog daycare in a dog training facility, assisting in training classes led by CPDT-KA dog trainers, attending dog training classes with my personal dogs (obedience, agility, nose work/scent detection), enrolling and continuing to enroll in dog training/behavior workshops and seminars with respected dog trainers, reading training/behavior books and looking up all things dog any chance I get has given me the ability to be versatile for each dogs unique needs and highly adaptable in our ever changing world! I am a one woman show: full time, fully insured, highly skilled, safety oriented and Pet First Aid+CPR certified. My small business is my passion and so much more than "just a job" or "playing with animals all day"... Everything I do from the initial meet & greet to the moment pull up to a client's home to the second I leave your pet and lock the door behind me is carefully thought out and intentionally planned in order to provide optimal care and an overall positive and calm experience for each dog/pet! My skillset allows me to handle and train an array of canine personalities - I implement training into each walk providing an all inclusive beneficial experience physically, mentally and emotionally for your dog! Training aids in keeping your pups mind sharp, addressing and working through problematic behaviors, overcoming fears in unsure situations or different environments, boosting your dogs confidence, building a trusting bond between the dog and myself and so much more! Aside from working with dogs I am well versed in caring for cats, birds, reptiles, small animals, exotics and fish. I love all animals and am not afraid to get my hands dirty! I am highly intuitive and very keen on noticing even the slightest changes in a pets habits or demeanor. I believe it is important to be totally transparent with my clients about their pets, whether I notice something good or bad, it is my responsibility to inform the client... after all, they are family! I communicate closely with each of my clients to ensure their peace of mind and to make sure we are on the same page. **All walks are on leash only for liability and safety reasons, NO exceptions** **All Pet Sitting/Overnight Care takes place in my clients homes. I do not offer boarding at this time**
