Introduction: I am a professional Musician/👩🏻🏫Educator/👩🏻💻Entrepreneur/💡Concert & Event Producer. I'm a passionate, energetic, humorous, patient cello instructor.
I achieved my Bachelor of Music degree at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing China in 2012. Master of Music degree at Boston University College of Fine Arts School of Music in 2014. Additionally, I received a Professional Studies Diploma at The New School’s Mannes School of Music in 2016.
I am currently working as the principal cellist of the Asian Cultural Symphony of the USA. The previous principal cellist of the New York International Symphony Orchestra, The International Chamber Orchestra of America, North America Asian Performing Arts Association Orchestra, New England Repertory Orchestra, and Boston University Symphony Orchestra.
I presented and produced my personal charity concert by my own company named American International Art Center at Weill Recital Hall of Carnegie Hall on September 29th, 2017 as a cellist solo with piano for classic pieces and trio with different classical instruments and Chinese traditional instruments erhu and pipa for the world premiere and the America Premiere Chinese new pieces. Also, as a charity concert, all the profit from this concert was donated to UNICEF USA for helping save more children’s lives in the world.
I have been teaching since 2008. I am the music and talent competition judge for 2017 The 1st CCTV Star Light Teenager Talent competition in New York, The Sino Vision the Teen’s Talent Show - American Youth Talent & Art Contests in New York from 2017 till now, and The 5th Hong Kong International Music Festival in 2018.
Within these years, I taught private lessons for cello and piano, group lessons, music theory, and studio classes of all ages and all levels. One of my ten years old students got the highest score in the Asian-Pacific Region in the Grade two cello exam of The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music only after one year of learning from me. I have abundant experience in helping students not only learn music and instruments but also enjoy lots of fun from it. I also helped my students for preparing their solo recitals, summer festival auditions, competitions, and auditions for pre-college music programs and Ivy League universities. I'm the founder & CEO of The American International Art Center (AIAC), founded by Meixu Lu in 2017, AIAC is a New York-based organization focusing on comprehensive performance, visual art education, consulting, production and services.
