About
"Where words leave off, music begins." — Heinrich Heine
Currently accepting new students! In-person lessons are available in Manhattan near Penn Station, in-home (approx. 20-30 min from Penn Station), and virtually via Zoom. Hybrid options (a mix of in-person & virtual) are also possible
As a professional flutist and graduate of Oberlin Conservatory of Music, I offer my students valuable insights into playful music making! Each lesson teaches the student how to improve their technique — often resulting in increased enjoyment and less struggle. My top priority is to guide students towards a deep understanding of music and instrumental technique.
I work with students of all ages, abilities, and levels - adults and professionals are also welcome! Since founding my flute studio in 2012, I have been dedicated to teaching a playful curriculum that allows students to confidently explore the flute. It is amazing to guide students towards an ever increasing sense of musical fluency.
Tuition for the 2026-2027 season:
I offer a sliding scale of $75-90 for 45 minutes and $100-120 for 60 minutes based upon the budget of each family. The rate is same for in-home instruction (includes approx. 20-30 minute commute from Penn Station) and in-studio reservations in midtown near Penn Station.
I no longer offer 30 minute lessons as I’ve learned in my 15 year career that students of all ages and levels strongly benefit from weekly ear training and guided practice instruction. I also fold basic piano literacy into my curriculum to help support the development of overall musicianship. These goals are all achieved when the lessons have time for appropriate pacing based upon the student’s disposition and learning style.
In our initial consultation (via Zoom or phone call), let's meet briefly to discuss any goals and general objectives. We will also discuss my teaching philosophy, studio policies, tuition costs, and mutual availabilities for our first session.
Each prospective student also has the option to add a complimentary 15-minutes onto our introductory lesson
You're welcome to reach out to me via Thumbtack or my website for more information -- I look forward to speaking with you soon!

Jenna has a unique and well thought out approach to teaching. Knowledgeable, patient, and commincative, both during and between lessons. I'd definitely recommend Jenna to novice or more advanced students who have not had much success with the standard traditional approaches to flute instruction.

Miss Jenna came into our lives at the end of last year 2019. She has groomed my daughter from the first moment we heard that my daughter was going to have the opportunity to audit for Bak Middle school of the Arts. From the first moment I met Miss Jenna I knew that she was going to be the perfect person to prepare my daughter because she is a highly educated person and her personality is very upright which I love, and I appreciate very much. Having Miss Jenna in my daughter’s life is extraordinary and I really appreciate her kindness. She is always attentive to the needs of her students and is very professional in every way. She is a fantastic teacher and she always offers the best education for my daughter who loves her and respects her very much. Jenna is so deeply dedicated to her work that she even dedicates personal time to her students. I have to add that her qualities are many and very positive and I know that she has touched the life not only of my daughter but my own due to her work ethic and her marked professionalism. I highly recommend Miss Jenna if you are looking for an extraordinary person to walk your son or daughter through music. Miss Jenna is very knowledgeable, and I can see that her passion is very great.
Finally, I have to add that my daughter not only is learning flute with her, but she is also learning piano as well. We are extremely happy with Miss Jenna.
