Introduction: I learned to cook healthy, vegetarian meals, to improve my own quality of life. Over the years as a single mother, preparing healthy food has been a way to nourish my children, their friends and mine. It is a way to avoid going to the doctor, and having more time to enjoy doing healthy things. I practice meditation, on a regular basis and have for over 40 years. So, I bring this quality to the kitchen. In my macrobiotic training, over 40 years ago, I learned how important the vibes are a person cooks with. Anger, frustration, impatience, do not belong in the kitchen..My point as a chef is not to impress but to nourish and delight with simple, organic meals. Cooking is a service to me, as is reflexology, another skill I bring to the table. I love helping people and making a difference.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

    I was traveling in Europe after college, and I got pretty sick. Someone told me if I fasted on whole grains and herbal teas, I could cure myself. That turned out to be totally true, but from that point on, I had to seriously learn how to cook other things besides whole grains and so, I came back to Boston to study in the Kushi Institute and lived in a study house for this purpose.
