About
I am deeply passionate about jazz and the tradition of American music, and I believe that learning music is one of the most rewarding and transformative experiences a person can have. Whether you are a complete beginner or an advancing student, my goal is to make every lesson inspiring, fun, and musically meaningful. I love seeing students discover their own voice and passion for music.
I have been teaching guitar, ukulele, and piano privately for over 8 years across multiple institutions in Canada and New York City, with over 100 students taught across all ages and skill levels.
I hold a Master of Music with Honors in Jazz Guitar Performance from NYU, where I also served as an Adjunct Instructor. I specialize in jazz, classical, pop, blues, R&B, and country guitar styles, and am experienced in preparing students for Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) examinations.
All online lessons are conducted via Zoom with professional audio and video quality, ensuring a clear and comfortable learning experience from anywhere. In Home lessons are offered in the NYC areas.

Vladimir was a wonderful guitar teacher for my kids. He was very patient, encouraging, and great at keeping the lessons fun and interesting. He made sure they understood what they were learning while also allowing them to enjoy playing music. Over time, I noticed a big improvement in both their skills and confidence. My kids always looked forward to their lessons with Vlad. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a caring and talented guitar teacher!

Vlad is a truly phenomenal teacher. One of the greats of his generation without question. His attentiveness, understanding and ability to teach were unmatched by any other guitarists I’ve taken lesson from. He takes teaching very seriously and it’s easy to tell that he wants his students to succeed.
I would recommend Vlad to anyone looking for guitar lessons without hesitation.

Vlad is an excellent teacher with a great depth of knowledge on both the technical and theoretical aspects of music and guitar. The lessons we had were critical in my development as a player!

Vlad is a very clear instructor who sets actionable goals, caters to development needs and has quite a varied knowledge of pedagogy and repertoire. He is very punctual and has helped countless students in achieving their goals, such as learning how to improvise in a jazz context, gaining a better understanding of music theory and developing transferable guitar skills for any genre. I would strongly recommend him for any teaching opportunities.

I cannot recommend Vlad enough! Learning from him has been an absolutely amazing experience. His lessons unlocked music theory for me in a way that finally makes sense.
