Dan Iead (pronounced eye-EED) is a tremendously talented musician and teacher. I've played with him in Los Angeles and spent time talking with him about music and music education. Dan is a total professional--on time, prepared, ready to go. He has a staggering understanding of the guitar and pedal steel; he knows the history of the instruments, the mechanics of how they work, and techniques for playing in a variety of styles. He's absorbed the lineage of the great players before him and he continues to carry it on and share it through teaching.
It's usually true that great performers make lousy teachers and that great teachers lack performance experience. Dan Iead is that rare exception who has over a decade of professional experience as a touring and studio musician and a gift to communicate and demonstrate concepts to students from beginning to advanced skill levels.

Dan might be the best guitarist I've ever met. I can't overstate how much I've learned working with him. An addition to his brilliant musical mind, he has a knock for explaining complex concepts in a clear, simple, understandable way. Furthermore, his kind, patient, low-key demeanor make him a natural and effective teacher.
