Karl (Protractor NYC) and his team are great! My water heater/tank that uses heating oil to heat was broken. I asked for estimates, many gave me very inflated estimates. But Karl's labor charge is reasonable and he spent time coming to my home to check the hardiness of my water, and recommended the best water tank/heater that works for me, ended up saving money by not going to some premium tank that I do not need for my home's water condition. Also, he patiently checked to ensure what pieces I need to replace and which are still working, so I don't waste money on them. He is professional, very knowledgeable, and really willing to go the extra mile to ensure I get good quality service with reasonable price. They are a property management company, in addition to plumbing, I would consider calling Karl to look at my HVAC and Boiler annual maintenance. Thank you, Karl.

We tried to mount a tv to the wall ourselves and quickly realized that we were in over our head. I did a little research and found Protractor NYC and they responded within minutes. Two hours later they were at our door. Karl and Jonathan were friendly and professional. They did a thorough job and were out of here 20 minutes later. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our process is designed to be simple, transparent, and stress-free.
We start by learning about your project—either through our online booking form, photos and details you provide, or a quick conversation if needed. This helps us understand the scope of work and prepare the right team and materials.
Once everything is reviewed, we provide clear, straightforward pricing with no hidden fees. We don’t nickel and dime projects, and we don’t believe in surprise charges. To secure your service date, we require a 50% deposit, with the remaining balance due upon completion.
On the day of service, our professionals arrive on time, protect your space, and complete the work with careful attention to detail.
After the job is complete, we review the work with you, clean up thoroughly, and make sure you’re satisfied. We stand by our workmanship and are always available if you have questions or need follow-up support.
From first contact to final walkthrough, our goal is to make your experience straightforward, professional, and reliable.
