I did not even bother looking elsewhere. My coworker had attended her cousin’s Mehndi and loved the henna artist that was present. She knew I was in the midst of looking for a henna artist and recommended Sameera. I saw their henna tattoos as guests and thought it was very well done and detailed. I then looked at Sameera’s work on Instagram and fell in love!!!!! I looked at every post and even bookmarked a few. Communication with Sameera was perfect; she was so responsive and professional in both emails and texting.
Originally, Sameera was booked for myself and another artist for the bridesmaids and mothers on a Friday. My mother in law insisted on booking this other artist for the Mehdni party on Saturday, so I let it be. About a week before the wedding my mother in law informs me that the artist she booked (almost a year in advance, with a week reminder) had gotten the dates mixed up and could not be available on Saturday. The stories I read in reviews on issues with vendors had happened to me, and I was thankful I prepared myself for this. I immediately contacted Sameera via email hoping she could recommend someone at the last minute. And within two days she delivered fantastic news to me! Not only did she find available artists (I needed three), but she was also available that Saturday.
Sameera arrived on Friday at precisely 10 am for my 7 hours of henna. She was so pleasant and sweet. Everything she needed she brought with her, and we didn’t even need to go over the details or designs because she recalled the requests I had made months ago in the paperwork. She had been working on the designs earlier that week because I had requested the henna to reach my elbows at a point. The designs on my arms included peacocks, which was great because it was the color theme of our wedding but without any display of peacocks or the feathers. She accommodated my two last minute requests to not fill my fingertips and to include a heart that included our initials and connected to the back of my hands. The design she provided was both planned and improvised which I was perfectly happy with. When it came to my feet, she followed the general layout of the picture I provided but also transformed it into her own style, which I loved. She took many photos of the progression and used those photos to determine if any additional details needed to be added. I had plenty of breaks, and I think towards the very end I was near falling asleep (I woke up very early due to excitement). Throughout the process, we spoke here and there, but I didn’t want to interrupt her work too much. In the end, Sameera’s work was so detailed, and her recommendations to maintain the staining was very helpful!
Sameera was an absolute pleasure to work with. Samantha, who arrived at 7 pm sharp was the artist scheduled for the bridesmaid and my mother, and her work was so beautiful and delicate. I wish the girls had requested more henna, but it was delightful to see her style of henna. The additional two artists on Saturday also had wonderful styles of henna, which both of our families enjoyed. I would love to book Sameera again just to have henna for the fun of it.
