- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
If you’re considering working with a hypnotherapist or coach, here are a few things I’d recommend keeping in mind: Look beyond the buzz — and ask about real experience. Healing from trauma isn’t something to take lightly. It’s essential that your practitioner has solid, in-depth training in trauma-informed care — not just a weekend certificate or a catchy title. Ask how they’ve supported others like you, not just with relaxation techniques, but with meaningful, long-term change. Avoid cookie-cutter approaches. You’re not a template — and your healing journey shouldn’t follow one either. A skilled practitioner will take the time to understand your unique story, listen deeply, and customize each session around your goals, your experiences, and your pace. Understand the methods they use. Hypnotherapy and NLP can be incredibly effective tools — but only in the right hands. Look for someone who blends modern techniques with a grounded, compassionate approach. Ask how they incorporate mind-body practices, subconscious work, and coaching strategies to support your growth. Most importantly, trust your gut. Your connection with your practitioner matters more than any credential. You should feel safe, seen, and respected — not judged, rushed, or pressured. If something feels off, honor that instinct.
