Introduction: I am a clinical psychologist, psychotherapist, hypnotherapist, marriage/relationship therapist, and life and business coach with over 25 years of professional experience in four different countries.
I have extensive training and professional experience not only in clinical psychology, psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, CBT, EMDR, marriage/couples therapy, sex therapy, systemic family constellations, and coaching - but also in music, dance, the creative arts, and in various body-mind techniques (yoga, shiatsu, TCM, martial arts, meditation and trance techniques, etc.).
Therefore, in my therapeutic work I use a rather rich and varied repertoire of therapeutic and coaching techniques.
A former Supervisor of Psychiatric Rehabilitation Therapy at Mount Sinai St. Luke's and Mount Sinai West Hospitals in NYC, I now run a successful private practice in Manhattan.
I am the founder and director of the New York Institute of Systemic Constellations, and run regular workshops and a training course in Family Constellations Therapy and Business Constellations.
In over 25 years of professional experience, I have worked with the whole gamut of psychological and relationship problems, psychiatric disorders, and neuropsychological conditions both in clinical and in private settings.
I have worked for large corporations and small companies, and have been a successful trainer, workshop leader, and lecturer at several universities for over two decades.
Having a large international clientele, I am a well-established online (Skype) coach and therapist, too.
I am an out-of-network provider, and I will send you an invoice for each session which you then can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
Please check your out-of-network coverage carefully.
In individual therapy, I help my clients identify thoughts and emotions which - if left to run on auto pilot - cause us pain, lead us to wrong decisions, and make us feel anxious, angry, depressed, unhappy.
We explore how earlier life experiences are still present in the automatic (and unconscious) response patterns of our bodies and nervous systems, and work not only with thoughts and emotions but also with the body.
I like explaining my clients a number of relevant psychological phenomena, too, because - in my experience - intellectual insight and understanding go a long way to inspire the emotional and mental work that is required to achieve lasting change.
In couples/relationship therapy, I help the couple resolve both the problems they have as a couple (communication, trust, intimacy, sex, infidelity, conflicts, family planning, divorce, abuse etc.) and those problems of one or both of the individuals that seem to contribute to their challenges as a couple.
And last but not least, we always have fun! :-)
Maybe tears as well, ... but certainly a lot of laughter! :-)
Because healing always implies that we regain our ability to see human nature for what it is: imperfect, fragile, ... but all the more lovable.
And what is humor if not seeing human nature for what it is: imperfect, fragile, ... but all the more lovable? :-)
