Introduction: My name is Murat. I have a degree in mathematics from Cornell and a score of 1570 form the old SAT. I also have a score of 800 on the GRE math and a score of 670 on the GRE verbal section. I have a lot of experience teaching many different subjects, and I am a very patient teacher. I love explaining concepts and trying to get students to really understand math topics, rather than just trying to get people to memorize shortcuts. My clients range from elementary school students trying to understand basic concepts to high school students struggling with algebra or the SAT. Whatever the level of the student, I love helping them really understand the concepts involved at a deeper level and getting them to actually enjoy math.

Murat has been working with our 9 year old son on advanced math. Everything about the experience has been terrific. From the outset, Murat has been responsive, responsible, and reliable. He is thoughtful about lesson plans, and patient and encouraging in his pedagogy. Our son loves him, and comes away from his sessions more and more excited about what he's learning. We feel fortunate to have found Murat!

Murat is an excellent tutor-- punctual, kind, responsible, and intelligent. He helped my younger sister pass pre-calc last year in the midst of all the pressures of her senior year. I noticed that her confidence grew after working with him. She stopped complaining about exams and improved by a grade level.

Murat is a great tutor: experienced, friendly, and patient. I am very satisfied with the way he helped me prepare for the SAT. After asking what my goals were, he made a clear roadmap of what I needed to do for the 3 months before the test. He checked in with me regularly, and was very responsive to emails. Definitely recommend.

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I first try to assess their needs and goals. I then make a roadmap of what they could learn that would get them there.
