FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $85/hr. I have a 4-hour minimum per organizing session. I charge the same rate for sourcing items, pre-move preparation and move management, travel time to donate items, and roundtrip travel that exceeds 2 hours is charged at the same rate, in 15 minute increments.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Before I enter, if possible, I love to get photos of your space beforehand and an idea from you about what sorts of things you’d like to accomplish. The main projects I work on are general organizing, pre-move purging, move management, post-move unpacking, and estates. The process will vary depending on your circumstances. Once I arrive, I’ll ask you what your goal is and ask you to walk me around the spaces you’d like to be organized. General Organizing - -I’ll ask you what your goal is and ask you to walk me around the spaces you’d like to be organized. -create 4 piles (keep, trash, donate, storage) -lay out all things on the floor, if possible -categorize -re-implement them into your space -If needed, take measurements for me to source organizing items afterwards -If needed, I donate items for you Pre-Move Purge - -I’ll ask you what your goal is and ask you to walk me around so I can take inventory of things you want to either (stay, go to new home, go to another home, donate, trash, or storage) -I’ll take photos, notes, and label items -We’ll mostly focus on items you want to purge. So, either focus on a specific room at a time, or multiple rooms depending on what sorts of things you’d like to get rid of and I’ll corral all items for you. -At the end, I will recycle, trash, or donate items for you. For bigger items, I can schedule a service to pick up and dispose of or donate. Move Management - -Prioritize decluttering and purging before the move, so you don’t move unwanted items into your new home -I connect with a moving company I trust and put them in contact with you to set up for the move. I make sure all items are packed carefully and all boxes are labeled correctly. -I put your extra items into storage, if needed -Make sure all boxes are left in the correct rooms in the new home -Make sure to source any organizational items or furniture you might want in your new home Post-Move Unpack - -I make sure everything is unpacked in the right spots in your home and that you have a designated place for everything. Estates - -Create an inventory of things you’d like to (keep, saved for relatives, trash, donate, move to storage, or sell) -Identify what needs to be sorted through. Corral all papers that need to be sorted (legal, financial, and medical papers relating to the estate) -Sort through possessions to identify where they’ll go -Arrange for certified appraisals – schedule appointments with galleries and specialized dealers to come to your home to view the items that have been identified for sale -Plan donations: to charities, thrift stores and providing the estate with an in depth inventory attached with a receipt for personal records -Arrange other vendors to help with services, such as a shredding company, moving company, trash removal company, cleaning company.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from Skidmore College with a Bachelor of Science in acting. I still pursue performing alongside coaching and home organizing. I have lots of passions in my life and found that being an executive functioning coach for over 5 years has given me a breadth of experience working with neurodivergent people. I mostly help EF clients with mental organization, create plans and schedules, and provide them with the tools needed to strengthen their weakest executive functioning skills. This sometimes includes organizing people’s homes so that they can think more clearly and accomplish tasks more efficiently. I have now also worked as a professional home organizer for over 3 years because I love connecting with people and having the physical environment be the main area of focus for organization.
