Based on my requirements, Valerie fulfilled every one of them. I needed a more professional looking wardrobe that I could mix and match. And I wanted to add color to my look. Her selections were spot-on and within my budget. I can't thank her enough. I love my new wardrobe. Val is the best! I highly recommend Shop with Val.Jul 31, 2017VerifiedValerie H.'s reply

Q & A
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Unlike many competitors, all of my rates are available on my website, ShopWithVal.com. My shopping services are available for $115/hr, offered in two and four hour blocks. Other services like a Closet Consultation are a flat rate of $395 (up to 3 hrs) and a Home Rescue Visit is a flat rate of $230 (2 hr in home session to build look book). The best part is that if you are interested in more than one service or looking to work together on a regular basis, I offer packages that allow you to save up to 25% simply by purchasing your services together!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? When working with a new client I like to learn as much as I can about them so that I can customize a plan that is catered to their needs. I send out a detailed questionnaire so that I can gather information regarding style preferences, measurements and budget. This information allows me to select stores and designers I feel would be a good match.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?My cousin wanted to buy one of her best friends a day with a personal shopper for her birthday. She thought it would be the perfect gift -- thoughtful, unique and something she would really appreciate due to the rut she was in after gaining some weight. After doing some research, my cousin realized she unfortunately, couldn't afford a personal shopper. There seemed to be no market for affordable stylists. "If you weren't a celebrity or very wealthy didn't you deserve the right to have help too?" she thought. She offered to hire me for the day because she said, "You're the next best thing to a personal shopper. You're great with people, you have an eye for fashion, and you know how to look good without having to spend a lot." I was flattered. I accepted her job offer. After having great success with her friend, I realized it was time to help others the same way. It was so rewarding to use my natural instincts and passion for fashion to help people feel better about themselves.
