Hey, I’m Cameron Riggs—a professional jazz pianist and piano teacher based in Harlem, NYC. I offer lessons in a wide range of styles, including jazz, classical, pop, and everything in between, along with music theory, sight reading, and improvisation.
I have over 20 years of piano experience and have played hundreds of shows. I’ve taught students of all ages and skill levels, and I’m proud to say that many of my students have gone on to become professional musicians themselves :)

I've been self-taught on piano for a few months now but I've always wanted to step up and learn theory and get better at learning songs by ear and understanding music deeper. I was afraid learning theory was going to be really difficult because any online resource I tried made it feel overwhelmingly complicated. Also, I was unsure how to practice and afraid I was learning the piano wrong. But once I started working with Cameron, all of those worries went away. Cameron knows music and the piano like it's a second language, and he has shown me a world in the piano that I didn't know was there. He's helped me understand theory so much better, he's helped me structure my practice, and he's also just a blast to work with. He's an incredibly thoughtful, smart, fun, and empathetic teacher and really cares about helping you grow to meet your own goals. He's also a breathtaking player in his own right. I highly recommend him for any age and skill level.

Cameron is an amazing and patient teacher who can help you see how simple music really is.
I always felt like music was too mysterious or complicated. Writing my own songs seemed like a long shot. Now, I’ve written enough material for an album and I love practicing!

Cameron is a joy to work with! He is extremely knowledgeable and, most importantly, knows how to communicate his knowledge. He always finds creative ways to keep me engaged, especially when he can tell I’m struggling. Ever since I started taking classes with him he encouraged me to play my own music.
