I take online piano and music theory lessons. Ive been working on ABRSM exams (but its not just about the exams).Anyone considering taking lessons from here can rest assured that theyll learn from highly qualified and highly skilled instructors active in impressive careers. So theres no doubt about that. What I think makes this school special though is simply the care they have; every faculty member Ive worked with treats it as more than a job. They really try to grow students musical interests and dont just talk about how to play notes right, for example. They explain why its all important and demonstrate whats cool and pretty about the music. Besides getting excited to perform in front of an audience during a recital, I get excited just to meet my teachers. I see them as out of this world amazing artists who are the best in their fields, but then I meet them and realize theyre still normal, nice people haha. Anyway Im willing to fly out to NYC for a couple days for a recital just to get to do that because thats how much I like it.

Our daughter has been taking piano lessons for years with Maria, and we are very happy with her progress. There are many different options for lessons including in person and by Zoom, which is helpful for schedule flexibility purposes. Maria is the perfect teacher for our daughter: she is complimentary for the good moments but tough on laziness. We highly recommend NYC Piano Academy.
