Introduction: Learn the music you love! I offer piano lessons for beginners through advanced. I teach all ages. I offer traditional teaching with the reading of the main two clefs (bass and treble), music theory, immediate approach to the keyboard, immediate exercise that develop the presence of your fingers in the keyboard as well as the strength and speed of your fingers. Start to play your favorite music from the very first lesson! Learning piano includes the following: * ear training * sight reading * music harmony * improvisational skills * knowledge of music history * counterpoint * technical mastery (note by note passage at every speed, octaves, double thirds, trills, arpeggios, scales, etc.) Technical mastery is not limited to the above. I also offer mastery of touch (how to approach the keyboard for a legato, articulate touch and semi-legato) and mastery of phrasing. The music phrase is different, depending on the composer and the period when the music was composed. I have complete command of knowledge from Bach to Broadway songs. Piano lessons are available also in a more easy-going way of learning which is reading only with the treble clef with the complete understanding of the chord symbols. This style of learning is definitely for jazz standards, Broadway and pop music. I offer singing lessons or vocal coaching for pop singers. The philosophy of my teaching here is based on the music that you want to learn. I don't do yoga lessons or relaxation lessons. I do start from the music. From the phrasing, you'll know where to breath. From the music, you'll know what kind of voice timbre to use (you don't sing a Broadway aria like a Beatles song). From the music, you'll learn the text by memory, understanding what kind of expression to use according to the meaning of the text itself. Warming up of the voice is essential for successful learning. I resume it in two essential points which are as follows: * Knowledge of your vocal range without trying to stretch where your voice can't arrive and will never arrive (find the beauty of your real voice) * Blending of lower middle and high range I offer performance opportunities for the most talented. I also offer vocal coaching for classical and opera singers. Identify from the beginning the timbre of your voice as well as your voice range. Some unlucky students have been convinced to belong to a voice range that is not theirs! I have been dealing with more than one case with singers that think to be a mezzo, but instead, they would be making a great career as alto! Once you know with certainty and confidence what is your range and timbre, you can direct your energy to the right kind of repertoire. This is very important especially for those who want to pursue singing at a professional level. You don't need to waste your time, money and energy in the wrong repertoire. For example, if you are a soprano leggero, you don't want to sing R.Wagner or G.Verdi. Other important aspects to consider include the following: * Enlarging your voice range in order to get your instrument more complete without forcing your voice and breathing according to the music phrase * Pitch control without the use of too much vibrato (I am not against it, but I am when the vibrato compromises the pitch.) * Clarity in the speed * Projection of your voice (The projection of your voice might sound great in the music studio, but would that be the same if you sing at the met?)
