Dina was shown each picture on spot, and she claimed loving them so much but after receiving them , the very same ones she loved on location , somehow, strangely she didn’t like them anymore. First, she claimed after receiving the pics, to not like her look in some of the pictures and then it became every photo after I refused to indulge her unreasonable request. It’s impossible to please someone so fickle minded. I explained to her for $75, it would be a brief outdoor session for anywhere between 5-10 pictures. Nobody on Thumbtack charges so little and since I’m new to the platform, I was offering a promotion which she couldn’t take enough advantage of. Dina received 12 pictures more than what I offer anyone just to indulge her. She arrived late and then made me shoot for an entire hour with no regard for my time, no apologies whatsoever. In addition , she made up some service, after receiving the pics, something that was never agreed to , where I would upload each pic , have her choose which she likes, and edit them accordingly . She claimed she was used to this service from other photographers. She refuses to acknowledge that this was never agreed to in the first place and seems intentionally oblivious how much more expensive and time consuming this process is. The incentive for a photographer to offer such a service is to charge per photo and print, and since I never made such an offer to her, I’m not sure what made her have such an expectation. The saddest part of dealing with Dina was her complete ignorance regarding what constitutes a good image. Most people defer to the photographer’s expertise but Dina has been schooled by Instagram. She wanted to look like some celebrity, I tried to explain to her the picture she was trying to model herself after was very ordinary, nothing remarkable, poorly composed and amateurish and that picture only received those likes because of that persons fame. The irony is that Dina has received some remarkable pictures but lacks the aesthetic awareness to appreciate them. Her penny pinching miserliness and fickle mindedness should be a note of caution for anyone who works with her.
