FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Simple, transparent pricing — no hidden fees. Private 1-on-1 lessons are $100 for 30 minutes, and your first lesson is free. Most students buy the 6-pack for $540 (10% off) because consistency is what gets results — package students also get a free bonus lesson every week, use-it-or-lose-it, to hit their goals faster. Learning with a sibling or a neighbor? Semi-private lessons are $80 per person for 2 swimmers and $70 per person for 3. Families receiving government assistance get 25% off standard rates — just mention it when you reach out; every kid should learn to swim, regardless of income. I accept credit card, Cash, Venmo, PayPal, Check, Apple Pay, and Zelle. One policy: please give 24 hours' notice to reschedule, or the lesson counts as used.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start with a free first lesson at your building's pool. I assess where you (or your child) are — water comfort, floating, breath control — and we set clear goals and deadlines for each stage, through to stroke technique. From there, most students book a package and a consistent weekly slot. After every lesson you get a brief debrief — what we worked on, what's next, what to expect — plus progress footage, so you can watch the improvement build over time. If you follow the plan and aren't seeing progress, I keep training you until you get there.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm a certified lifeguard and CPR-certified swim instructor with 10+ years of teaching experience. I come from a competitive swimming background, having swum on scholastic/NCAA-level teams, and I've taught more than 1,000 swimmers. I currently teach learn-to-swim classes at facilities in NYC alongside my private lessons, and I'm background-checked.
