- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I usually charge by the hour: $25/hour for proofreading, $35/hr for copy editing, and $40-50/hr developmental editing depending on the type of writing. I normally proofread at a rate of 10-15 pages/hr, whereas copy editing can take long (anywhere from 5-8 pages/hr, depending on the type of text and the language). I can offer a fixed rate for a well-defined project. My specialty is doctoral dissertations and formatting in APA, MLA, and Chicago styles.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After an initial consultation (via phone or email) together we will lay out a plan of action to achieve the goals you set, and more! I generally charge by the hour but can offer find rates for clearly defined projects.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Advanced degrees and over 20 years of teaching experience at the university level, including tutoring (from music to foreign languages).
