Singing Lessons
Anette is incredibly knowledgeable and capable when it comes to the voice and music in general. I'm amazed at how many times I've come away from a lesson with a new tool or perspective for my singing. She keeps it interesting and above all else relevant to what you are looking to achieve, curtailing lessons specifically to your abilities and progress. In the music world, where there are countless teachers, styles and approaches, I am certain that Anette's value add as an instructor is absolutely top notch. If you put the effort in, you will certainly get a great return on your investment with her guidance.

Singing Lessons
I have been taking voice lessons since the age of 7, and after having only one voice lesson with Anette I have learned so much! I didn't realize how many concepts about the physical aspect of singing I did not fully understand. She is very knowledgeable on the subject and simplifies it so it's easier to comprehend. Even if you think you know everything there is to know about singing, Anette will surprise you!

Singing Lessons
Anette is by far the best vocal coach I've ever had. Expert is an understatement when it comes to her knowledge of the voice and singing. Because her approach is focused on correct fundamentals, she is the perfect coach for any level of singing. She has improved my range, power and confidence in a few short months. I would also add that she can help with ANY style of music, as I am primarily focused on rock/blues. If you are willing to put the time in on your own, you will notice improvements very quickly. Sign up for the initial lesson to see for yourself, you won't regret it, and will likely be back for more!

Singing Lessons
Anette gave voice lessons to my 11 year old daughter. She was knowledgable, patient, and fun. She worked on songs that my daughter wanted to sing. She was understanding about school schedules. And it was great to be able to hear the entire lesson through dropbox.

Anette is an excellent vocal coach not only because of her extensive knowledge on how to use your voice, but also her passion for helping you reach your potential. She’s extremely motivating, encouraging, and funny too! I always came out of the lessons feeling uplifted and more confident in my voice and myself. Her keen sense of observation and insightful teaching methods led to seeing consistent improvement in my singing technique as well. I even landed a record deal! Thank you, Anette!

FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I always start with and initial lesson at $75. It is an introduction to my teaching style and the online format, and we get to meet and see if we are good fit for each other. You can expect to walk away with A LOT of information about your voice and some starting exercises. For my ongoing rates and payment models please visit my website, but generally I discount my $95 hourly rate up to 25% if you buy lesson packages.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?First I look for balancing the voice out in the three main areas. Breath, Laryngeal Gestures and Pharyngeal Spacing. There is A Lot of information about the science of voice use, and we design exercises that gets you on track to a balanced voice. There are almost no scales - so if you have taken lessons before and you love that part of voice lessons I am not the right fit for you. Once the basic concepts are understood and experienced so we know you are practicing correctly we get into expanding your voices abilities and we don't ever have to stop...
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have a BA in Musical Theatre, and did the 2 year program at The William Esper Studio after that. I have studied voice in Denmark, London and New York for 25+ years and have been teaching for 10. I started out teaching voice and speech and accent reduction mentored by Nancy Mayans, and my method of teaching still is very relatable to training of the speaking voice. I taught at Performers Career Center as an associate teacher for 6 years where I learned AaaaLL the science from Patrick Michael Wickham. I have been running Northline Music since 2014. I am a co-founder of Scandinavian American Theatre Company and served on the board until recently, and I have served on the board of New York Singing Teachers Association for 7 years. I am always learning new things about the voice and the body-mind connection. I also still perform as an actor, solo as a singe/songwriter and with my folky-rockband 'The Old Man and The C'
